Haskap Pear Crisp

Ingredients
Filling:

3 pears 

2 cups haskaps 

¼ cup flour 

½ cup brown sugar 

½ butter 

1 tbsp lemon juice 

1 tbsp cornstarch 

1 tsp vanilla 

½ tsp nutmeg 

½ tsp ground ginger 

½ tsp salt 

1 tsp cinnamon


Topping:

¼ cup maple syrup 

½ cup butter 

½ cup flour 

1 tbsp cornstarch 

1 tsp nutmeg 

½ cup pecans 

1 tsp vanilla 

1 tsp ground cardamom


1. Heat up the oven to 400°F

2. Start by creasing the pan with a little bit of butter.

3. Slice 2 of the pears into thin slices and place them evenly to the bottom of the pan. Top with haskaps.

4. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.

5. Add lemon juice, vanilla and melted butter.

6. Spread evenly on top of pears and haskaps.

7. Start making your topping.

8. Mix all the dry ingredients well together.

9. Crush your pecans and add them into the mix.

10. Add maple syrup, vanilla and melted butter, mix well.

11. Spread the topping evenly on top of the pears and haskaps.

12. Cut some pear slices or halfs on top of the dish and sprinkle a little bit of brown sugar on top.

13. Place into the oven for approximately 30 minutes or until golden brown. Best served with some ice cream.
