What are we Testing

We are trialing over 30 varieties of haskaps; Berries Unlimited, Doctor Maxine Thompson’s, Polish varieties and other U of S varieties. We are looking to see how they grow, flower, produce and taste. As our orchard expands we want to make sure we have the best haskaps planted in the orchard.

Especially when it costs tens of thousands of dollars to plant or expand a haskap fruit orchard.

Right now the late Doc Thompson’s varieties Kawai and Keiko are leading the pack. Not only do they have great plant form and flavour, they also ripen even later then the Boreal series.
